Three plans, each for a kind of store

Not a bag of features with a number on it. Free proves the gate works on your theme, Starter runs a catalogue that is permanently behind a door, and Growth runs launches.

A flat monthly price and no share of your sales, ever. Prices are in US dollars and charged through Shopify, which shows them converted into your own currency at checkout. The App Store listing (opens in a new tab) is what you are billed against; if it and this page ever disagree, this page's own build fails until somebody fixes it.

Prove it works

Free

Free

No card, and no time limit.

For seeing the gate work on your own theme before you pay for anything.

Recommended

Run a private catalogue

Starter

$14.99 a month

or $149.99 a year: $12.50 a month, saving 17%

For a store whose catalogue sits permanently behind a door: trade, members, or a private range.

Run launches

Growth

$34.99 a month

or $349.99 a year: $29.17 a month, saving 17%

For a store that runs drops and campaigns, where the date, the queue and who your members bring matter as much as the lock.

  • Downgrading never takes a private catalogue public.
  • Your data stays for as long as the app is installed.
  • A failed payment drops you to Free, never to the top tier.

What happens if you downgrade, in full

What is in each

The same list the app shows you on its own Plans screen. If a row here and a row there ever disagree, the app is right and this page is stale. Tell us.

How the billing actually works

All of it is Shopify’s, which is deliberate: we would rather not be a company that holds your card.

No share of your sales

The monthly price is the whole price. We do not take a percentage of what a drop takes, so a launch that goes unexpectedly well costs the same as one that does not, and you can work out your bill before you run the sale rather than after.

Development stores are free

Every feature, permanently, on any development store. Build the whole thing on a test store, including the paid parts, before it touches your real one.

Charged by Shopify

Plans run on Shopify Managed Pricing. Trials, changes mid-cycle, proration and currency are Shopify’s to handle, and the charge appears on your Shopify invoice alongside everything else.

Refunds go through Shopify

Because we never take the payment. Refunds and cancellations run under Shopify’s billing terms rather than ours. Worth knowing before you write to us about one.

Free trials on the paid plans

Both paid plans come with a free trial, taken from the App Store listing. A drop or a campaign takes longer to set up than a couple of days, so use it on something real instead of clicking around.

Price changes get notice

At least 30 days by email, applying from your next billing cycle. Uninstalling before it takes effect avoids it.

Annual saves 17%

Starter is $149.99 a year against $179.88 paid monthly; Growth is $349.99 against $419.88. Both figures on the cards above are yearly totals, with the per-month equivalent beside them, because the total is what Shopify actually charges on the day.

What happens if you downgrade

This is where an app that gates a storefront can do real damage, so it is worth being specific rather than reassuring.

  • You are shown what it costs before you do it. On the way to Shopify’s plan picker the app spells out what a lower plan stops on your own store, in your own numbers: which tiers stop applying, how many people are in the waitlist queue, how many invite links stop working. Alongside it, everything that is kept for you if you come back.
  • Or pause for a month instead. A paid plan can be paused once a year. Billing stops for 30 days and your storefront carries on exactly as it was — locks, tiers and drop dates all still running — but nothing new can be created while it lasts, and it ends by itself if you don’t come back.
  • Your locks keep locking. A lock that exists goes on hiding what it hides, whatever plan you are on, and downgrading never takes a private catalogue public. What a cheaper plan stops is the parts that let people in on a schedule or by level: without scheduling a lock ignores its dates and simply stays on, and without tiers it stops asking for a level. The dates and the tiers themselves are kept, so moving back up resumes them rather than asking you to type them again.
  • You can always empty the waitlist. Releasing people from the queue is never blocked by your plan. A store that downgrades with two hundred people waiting must still be able to let every one of them in. The plan is enforced where the queue fills, not where it empties.
  • Your data stays. Requests, codes, grants and reports are kept for as long as the app is installed, whatever plan you are on.
  • Above the free limits, creation stops. On Free you get one lock and five codes. Existing ones past that keep working; new ones wait until you move back up.
  • If a payment fails, paid features stop and the app falls back to the free tier, never to the top tier. Your data is untouched.
  • Uninstalling is different. Everything belonging to your store is permanently deleted 48 hours afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first. The Privacy Policy has the detail.

Questions people ask about the plans

Can I try the paid features before paying?

Two ways. Both paid plans have a free trial, and every feature is free forever on a Shopify development store. Build and test the whole thing, tiers and drops included, without a subscription at all.

Which currency is that, and what will I actually be charged?

The amounts above are US dollars, which is what Shopify bills against. The App Store listing (opens in a new tab) shows them converted into your own currency, and that conversion, along with tax, is Shopify's, not ours. If a figure here ever disagrees with the listing, the listing is right: it is what you are charged against, and this page's build fails when the two drift apart.

What counts as a “lock”?

One rule about part of your store: a product, a set of products, a collection, or everything. The free plan gives you one. That is enough to gate a whole store, or to prove the gate works on your theme before you commit.

What is an interest list?

The cart’s stand-in on a store nobody can check out of. A visitor collects what they want into it and submits it with your request form, so what arrives is not just “someone wants in” but which products they were after. An approved list can become a Shopify draft order in one click.

I was on the old Advanced plan. What happened to it?

It is gone. It charged more than Growth for one feature, sending through your own mail provider, and one feature is not a tier. That moved into Growth, and any store still on an Advanced subscription resolves to Growth. Nobody lost anything they were paying for.

Do you charge per lock, per code, or per unlock?

None of them. Above the free plan, locks and codes are unlimited and unlocks are not metered. A drop that goes unexpectedly well does not produce a bill.

Will the emails look like they came from my shop, or from you?

From your shop, on every plan including the free one. Your logo, your brand and button colour, a typeface, a real footer with your address, and a light or dark set, applied to all six emails the app sends. The sender name is your shop and replies go to you. What a paid plan adds is rewriting the words: the styling is not the part we charge for.

Start on the free plan

One lock and five codes, with no time limit and no card. Move up when you have something to launch.
